Valerie Lamke MS, LMFT, CDBT

Lead Therapist I have been a Licensed Psychotherapist for the past 17 years in private practice, having worked with hundreds of people from all walks of life. I have always used evidence-based treatments that offer the best outcome for clinical care. I have also created unique and effective therapy systems to promote a more meaningful and collaborative experience for my clients. From my decades of being in this profession I have seen patterns that exist and are unique to women’s mental health care. I have recently opened this office in Portland to address these critical clinical issues facing women and dedicate my clinical time to helping women regain a sense of joy and emotional balance in their lives.   Women usually contact me when their natural support system just isn’t enough, and they are feeling stuck. Sometimes it is a new challenge that has hit their lives and other times it is an old unresolved issue from the past. By getting the empathetic support and the effective clinical interventions, you will have the chance to better build insight, enhance your coping skills and build a resiliency for future challenges. I am honored to be part of your journey of healing and look forward to working with you.

My Experience

A benefit of training other therapists is that I have to be on top of the latest information. I am constantly preparing presentations about theory and effective treatment. It has made me a better therapist. I am always learning and it is a lifetime commitment.

I have had training with the Gottman Institute and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) through UC Davis. I have additional training with TF-CBT and CPT for trauma care. And most recently have completed a certification program to be a Certified DBT therapist.
